Window film in Kaneohe

Window film for Kaneohe and the bay — glare off the water, humidity and the Koolau rain shadow.

Kaneohe sits in the wettest, most humid part of the island, and that shows up as condensation and mould around window frames. Film does not fix ventilation, but reducing the solar gain reduces the temperature swing across the glass, which is what drives the condensation in the first place.

Bay-facing homes get significant reflected glare through the middle of the day. Around Kaneohe Bay Drive and the Bay View area we most often install a light spectrally selective film — enough to cut the glare without darkening rooms that are already under cloud a good part of the week.

Because the windward side is cooler, the value here is more about comfort, UV and privacy than about air-conditioning savings. We will tell you plainly if we think the payback is not there.
